Remuneration:
The remuneration offered is the Youthreach Resource scale as determined by the regulations of the Department of Education & Skills.
35hpw is full time anything less is pro rata
Salary: €37,034 per annum (Youthreach Resource Salary Scale – Post 1/1/11 Entrants, Point 1)
Resource Person (New Entrants)
37,034 – 38,691 – 39,991 – 41,819 – 43,995 – 46,175 – 48,365 – 50,555 – 52,802 – 55,133 – 57,512 – 59,924 – 62,510 – LSI 1 64,658 – LSI 2 66,810
Salary will be paid in accordance with such rates as may be authorised by the Minister for Education from time to time for Youthreach Resource Person. Entry point to this scale will be determined in accordance with Circulars issued by the Department of Education. Rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Policy.
For persons entering a recruitment grade for the first time, starting pay will be at the minimum of the new reduced scale and is not negotiable.
Annual Leave:
35 days full time pro rata is hrs are less than 35hpw
- This is a Permanent Post / Fixed Purpose (Check Staff Requistion form ) Permanent unless is it a post to cover an absence
- All appointments are subject to the approval of Department of Education.
- Garda Vetting is Mandatory
- Qualifications, Salary Scale and Conditions of Service in accordance with the regulations of the Department of Education.
- Appointment is to Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board.

Youthreach is an educational training and work experience programme for young people (aged 16 – 20 years) who have left school early. The aim is to develop the core skills needed for further learning and to prepare young people to progress to further education/training or to employment.
Duties of Youthreach Resource - CL12/03
- Responsibility to the Co-ordinator on a day to day basis for the delivery of the programme.
- Direct class contact in keeping with programme needs as required by the ETB subject to a maximum of 20:40 hours per week.
- Curriculum development and delivery, implementation of certification procedures
- and front line guidance and information
- Maintenance of discipline
- Development and monitoring of programme
- Assessment and monitoring of trainee course work
- Conducting interviews of trainees
- Administrative duties relevant to the post.
- To deputise when necessary for the Centre co-ordinator

Essential Requirements:
- At least NFQ Level 7 qualification AND a minimum of three years’ experience in a skilled capacity in the appropriate area being advertised. The technical/relevant academic qualifications, enthusiasm and confidence needed to deliver the subject area.
- The skills needed to prepare and deliver enjoyable and effective modules using appropriate learning strategies that provide for the needs of all students in the class; and to incorporate technology to enhance learning outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A professional approach and ability to work with colleagues to develop professional relationships.
- Continually improve his/her professional knowledge and practice.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
